    ARMOR mobile computers combine advanced computing and communications technology with MIL-STD-810F durability. DRS Tactical Systems Inc. uses Intel processing technology and offer a full array of communications options, including integrated Wi-Fi, Ethernet and a PCMCIA slot in its computers. Weighing 5.2 pounds, ARMOR tablets and convertible notebooks go anywhere in support of any operation requiring mobility. Additional features include a designed aluminum DuraCase chassis with ShutOut sealing technology and no-flap input connections and tool-free, hot-swappable battery access. Available in both touch screen and passive pen versions, the 10.4-inch LCD monitor uses backlight technology for indoor and outdoor viewability -- even in direct sunlight.

    DRS Technologies, Inc. announced that the ARMOR X10gx rugged tablet computers have endured rigorous testing and have been certified for connectivity on the Verizon Wireless network.

    This accomplishment ensures that ARMOR customers that utilize the integrated WWAN capabilities of the ARMOR X10gx will have an optimal data and communication experience with Verizon Wireless.

    The fully-rugged tablet — with integrated Gobi 2000 WWAN mobile broadband radio to keep the user connected on multiple wireless networks—achieved certification under Verizon Wireless’ Open Development program. This program is designed to allow and encourage the development community to create new products, applications and services, and bring these to the marketplace on the Verizon Wireless network.
